During her tenure as a Specialist Legislative Adviser to the Attorney General at the Ministry of the Attorney General, Kandice played a vital role in shaping legislation and policies. She was involved in high-level committees, including the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Cyber Crime and the Legislative Review Committee. Her expertise and contributions were instrumental in drafting Cabinet Notes, providing legal research, and reviewing proposed legislation.

She served as a Legal Officer with the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission, where she managed a diverse portfolio of litigation matters. Her responsibilities included representing the Commission in Magistrate’s Court, High Court, and Industrial Court proceedings, as well as providing legal advice to various departments within the organization.
From the inception of her legal career, and with a deep passion for Family Law, Kandice has held significant positions in the field. She served as the Head of the Civil Child Abduction Authority, overseeing cases involving international child abduction and ensuring the best interests of the children involved were protected. During her tenure as Legal Consultant to the then Attorney General, she provided legal support and expertise to an Ad-Hoc Committee established by the Attorney General to review the Children Bill in 2012. She also chaired the Cabinet appointed Committee on the Reform of the Justice of the Peace System from 2012 to 2014.

Kandice’s impressive professional background is complemented by her academic achievements and ongoing commitment to professional development. She obtained her LLB (Upper Second Class Honours) from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom and completed her Bar Vocational Course at BPP Law School in London. She has also participated in various specialized workshops and programs, including international conferences on child protection and the Hague Convention.
